GUN SAFETY

Guns are in more than one third of all U.S. households, so they're a very real danger to children, whether you own one or not. That's why it's important to talk to kids about the potential dangers of guns, and what to do if they find one. Gun safety does not end when your child leaves your home.

TALK ABOUT SCHOOL SAFETY

Talk with children and validate their feelings. Let their questions guide what and how much information to provide and emphasize the positive things that children, families, and schools can do to stay safe. Be aware of signs the child might be in distress.
CHILDREN AND GUNS

In many cases, children come in contact with "Toy Guns" at a very early age. They also may form the preconceived notion that after you "kill" someone that they "pop back up" like they do on video games. Parents have to address this phenomenon to distinguish the difference.

Let's Chat is a board game that encourages the parent to discuss serious issues with their children in a fun, friendly environment, from a very young age so that as they grow older you have built a very solid foundation of information that they can use to navigate the serious issues that our children face today. You also have the opportunity to develop an environment where your child feels comfortable in "chatting" with you about everything that they face in these impressionable years. Because you have been playing "Let's Chat" with your children for years, your child will realize that talking with their parent about these subjects is acceptable and
non-threatening. It can even be FUN!

Let's Chat is unique in the fact that it literally grows up with your child. When your child is younger you are creating an an open communication atmosphere approaching serious issues in a delicate manner and as they get older you are able to expand upon the serious issues with age appropriate conversations. Certainly your conversation with a 5 year old will be different than with a 10 year old. But all the while, you are building a knowledge bank of information on serious issues your child may have to face.

Because every family has different dynamics, Let's Chat gives you the opportunity to discuss these issues in a way that is best suited for your individual family. While school may address these issues, they are addressed in such a generic way that it may not be suitable for your family with it's unique set of circumstances.

Open communication between a parent and child can be the most effective way of shaping your child's growth and future. But in many cases parents do not know how to talk with their child about such important topics without making it sound scary or even worse, a lecture. Let's Chat takes away the awkwardness of these subjects and puts them in a very "matter of fact" way. And because your child will love playing the "Let's Chat" board game with you, you have the opportunity to reinforce what you have taught them.

School Safety has never been more important than it is today. No longer is addressing this issue with your children in their teen years acceptable. Data also shows that children learn from repetition, and in an emergency situation you want your child to know right away, without hesitation, how to react to a serious issue. Hoping that your child will know how to react is not good enough.

Today, School Safety is one of the biggest issues, one of the most confusing issues, and one of the hardest issues to deal with. Somehow, we have to assure children they are safe in school, while at the same time teaching them to be aware of suspicious behavior or report if you see a weapon. And most of all, this issue needs to be "chatted" about without scaring your child.
Parents struggle to make their child's school experience a happy experience without the stresses of worrying about what could happen and what has happened already too many times. "Let's Chat" can help minimize that struggle by "chatting" about this issue and helping your child be aware, without being scared.
"Let's Chat" addresses School Safety and Guns with questions like:
-What should you do if someone brings a weapon to school?
-While on Social Media, if you see a friend with a gun, what do you do?

You then have the chance to discuss these issues with your child in a safe, secure, and comfortable setting. And with answers and solutions that fit your family!
Let's Chat!
